Cultivating an environment where everyone can flourish.

ABLED is a Nebraska Medicaid service provider offering home and community-based services for people with developmental and intellectual disabilities, as well as seniors and adults who need in-home or community support to live independently.

We serve communities across Lincoln, Norfolk, Seward, Wahoo, Beatrice, Grand Island, Omaha and beyond.

At ABLED, we believe every person deserves the opportunity to grow in freedom and belonging.

We take seriously the challenges faced by people living with disabilities and the impact those challenges have on their families.

At the same time, we choose to see ability — honoring each person’s unique gifts, talents, and dreams.

Our Story

A young man in a white shirt and black apron standing next to shopping carts in a grocery store entrance, with a brick wall in the background and a welcome sign on the wall.

ABLED has been person-centered since its founding in 2014. In honor of Andrew C. Tagart, who lived with a developmental disability, his family and friends came together to create a service provider that would do things differently—rooted in faith, guided by a deep respect for individual freedom, and grounded in family and community.
